Salami Milano, also known as ‘Milanese,’ originates from the southern part of Milan, Italy. It is now made in other areas outside of the Lombardy region of Italy.
Salami is a finer product than others within our charcuterie section as it uses a special tool called ‘finimondo’. This allows the meat to be minced finer than other traditional sausages resulting in a more even distribution of the fat content as demonstrated in its uniform appearance. The sausage meat is mixed with salt, pepper, crushed garlic and white wine before being put into a natural casing. The Salamis are left varying lengths of time depending on the season and desired flavour. Veroni pride themselves on the intense red colour and sweetness on the palate due to their long ageing process.
It is one of the most popular of the Italian meats in the world due to its sweet flavour and highly versatile too.
