When our local Helmsley Butcher and meat provider of 30 years decided to retire in 2012, we quickly needed to find a supplier of quality meats for our award winning sausage rolls and pasties.

Having recently bought a butchers and delicatessen in Helmsley from a well known Michelin Star restaurant owner, the connection with R & J was made.

Following extensive trials and visits to Ryan’s superb butchery, we managed to match the quality we wanted using locally reared pork and beef. Ryan and his team have been consistently helpful and professional throughout the transition, and are happy to help us to develop and extend our range of products.

I’ve been using the 40 day aged signature range of strip loin from R&J and I am very impressed with the quality of the product. With just the perfect amount of marbling and a lovely deep rich red of the meat it makes grilling steaks and roasting the Sunday roast an absolute chef’s dream.

As a company with three licensed premises, we use R & J Signature range exclusively for all our rump, sirloin, rib-eye and fillet steaks. On a Sunday, The Tiger Inn serves Roast Sirloin, again from the R & J Signature Range.

Served rare, we receive numerous comments over the quality of this product, which we believe is unsurpassable. We would never consider offering our guests, in any of our current or future establishments, anything other than this range of first rate quality beef.
